We do not give, rent or sell our customers' names or their email addresses to outside companies. We maintain strict security over all the personal information you share with us.
We may from time to time provide you with information via email and regular mail that we feel is important or that our participating transit providers have asked us to share with you (such as fare changes, schedule updates or upgrades to our CommuterDirect.com® shopping service).
Here at CommuterDirect.com, we pride ourselves on our security as well as our customer service. We will never instruct our customers to contact us at another telephone number besides (703)228-RIDE (7433) to update their personal information. CommuterDirect.com also will never ask our customers via US Postal Mail, to update their personal information. If you receive any instructions asking you to do this, either via email or US Postal Mail, please contact us at (703)228-RIDE (7433) before giving out any of your personal information.
Security - Your Information is Safe on CommuterDirect.com®
Protecting your order information is a high priority. We make every effort to protect your online order information by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.
SSL encrypts your order information to avoid the decoding of that information by anyone other than The Commuter Store staff processing CommuterDirect.com orders. To check the security of your connection, look at the lower left-hand corner of your browser after accessing the server. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser), then SSL is active. You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from "http" to "https."
A Note About "Cookies"
CommuterDirect.com online ordering uses "cookies" - packets of information stored temporarily on your computer - to make online ordering as fast and easy for you as possible. These cookies are not used to gather personal information, and are deleted as soon as your order is finalized. The online ordering system will not work if your browser preferences are set so that the browser will not accept cookies.
Other Ordering Options
If you are having trouble accessing the server, or if you are not comfortable with online ordering, you may place your order by mail, fax or phone.
All Commuter Store locations, the Mobile Commuter Store, the CommuterDirect.com Customer Service Call Center, and ART - Arlington Transit Call Center will be closed Monday, May 27, 2019 for Memorial Day. CommuterDirect.com orders placed after 2 p.m. Friday, May 24 will be processed and mailed on Tuesday, May 28. ART 41, 42, 43, 45, 51, 55, and 87 will operate on Sunday schedules. All other ART routes will not operate.
May 22, 2019, Commuter Store
Your agency will be providing you with an updated TRANServe card with a new card number. Once you have the new card, please update your wallet as soon as possible to avoid any potential delays in processing your next orders. If you have a recurring order, please remember to update your payment promise to properly list the new card number, this change should occur after you have updated your wallet. Your new TRANServe card will be delivered by your specific agency during the Summer months.
